Nice to meet you!
About Me
My name is Lori Morris. I am a registered nurse with over thirteen years' experience in healthcare, with ten of those years as an RN. I have spent the majority of that time working in the arena of women's services, including labor and delivery, postpartum, nursery, and NICU. I am also a veteran of the United States Navy. I have a wealth of experience and knowledge accumulated over my years as a nurse, but I have experienced many of the same frustrations you have in dealing with the "medicalization" of childbirth. Pregnancy is NOT an illness! It is a natural, normal occurrence that has been taking place since the beginning, and thus I believe that our bodies are made to do this job! Technology and medicine has a place when it is needed, but your body knows how to birth. You are not a lemon! You are not broken! I am now using the knowledge I've gained to be able to nurture women through this normal right of passage. I know what a normal birth looks like, and I know what a true medical emergency looks like first hand. I want to be able to help women experience their birth the way they want to, to the furthest extent possible. I love what I do and look forward to the opportunity to work with you in this vitally important time in your life!
I recently graduated from Frontier Nursing University (<-- Click the school name to learn more) with my Master of Science in Nurse-Midwifery. I will be taking boards soon to be a Certified Nurse-Midwife.
I am a Christian and have a deep faith in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I believe God designed us in a marvelous way, especially as it applies to childbirth. My faith is central to my life, but I offer services to those of any faith or cultural background!
